These terms and conditions govern your use of the Kafu Safaris website and the safari planning, booking and travel services we provide. By accessing this website or booking a trip with Kafu Safaris you accept these terms in full.

1. Bookings and reservations

All trip enquiries, quotations and reservations are handled by the Kafu Safaris team directly. A booking is confirmed only when we issue a written confirmation and receive the required deposit. Deposit amounts and payment schedules are set out in the trip quotation and may vary depending on the itinerary, season and third-party supplier terms.

2. Prices and payment

Prices quoted are in United States dollars (USD) unless stated otherwise and are valid for the period specified in the quotation. Prices may change due to factors beyond our control, including currency fluctuations, government taxes, park fees or supplier rate changes. We will notify you of any price change before finalising your booking. Payment instructions and bank details are provided with each invoice.

3. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellation policies vary by trip and are communicated at the time of booking. In general, deposits are non-refundable. Cancellation charges increase as the departure date approaches, reflecting the non-recoverable costs we incur with lodges, transport providers and other suppliers. Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within 30 days of cancellation and are subject to any bank or processing fees.

4. Travel insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all Kafu Safaris trips. Your policy must cover medical expenses, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, loss of baggage and personal liability. Proof of insurance may be requested before departure. Kafu Safaris is not liable for costs arising from travel without adequate insurance.

5. Passports, visas and health

It is your responsibility to ensure you hold a valid passport, obtain the required visas and meet any health requirements (including vaccinations and yellow fever certificates) for the countries on your itinerary. Kafu Safaris provides general guidance but does not accept liability for entry refusal, delays or costs resulting from incomplete travel documents.

6. Changes to itineraries

Safari itineraries are planned with care, but conditions in East Africa can change. We reserve the right to alter routes, accommodation, or activities when necessary for safety, weather, road conditions, or circumstances beyond our control. Where a material change is made before departure we will offer a comparable alternative or a refund for the affected portion of the trip.

7. Liability

Kafu Safaris acts as an agent for the independent suppliers (lodges, transport operators, activity providers) that deliver your trip. While we select suppliers carefully, we are not liable for their acts, omissions, or defaults. Our total liability for any claim arising from a trip is limited to the amount paid for that trip.

8. Website use

The content on this website is provided for general information and trip-planning purposes. We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate and current but do not warrant its completeness. Images are used under licence and may not be reproduced without permission.

9. Privacy

Personal information you share through our contact forms is used solely for trip planning and communication with you. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing. Our full privacy practices are described in our privacy policy, which is available on request.

10. Website analytics and communications

With your browser privacy controls respected, this website may use privacy-conscious traffic measurement, Google Analytics, Search Console and Microsoft Clarity to understand page performance, improve content and diagnose usability issues. These tools are enabled only from the settings configured by Kafu Safaris and are not a substitute for a booking record. You may contact us if you want information about a communication or data request associated with your enquiry.

11. Third-party links and reviews

Links to TripAdvisor, social networks, WhatsApp and other third-party services are provided for convenience. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. Any TripAdvisor excerpts displayed on this website are published only after review by Kafu Safaris and do not change the terms of a booking.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any dispute arising from these terms or a trip booked with Kafu Safaris will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda.
